Integrating Sustainable Technologies and Infrastructure Systems

International Symposium

Thursday, 8th April 2014, 12:50 -18:30 h

International Conference Chamber (319), Korea Land and Housing Corp. (Ori Building), 175 Gumi-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea

The Zero Emission Building (ZEB) concept is receiving remarkable interest. The approach is considered as the future goal for the design of buildings. Since, ZEBs can produce energy, water and resources.

The aim of ZEBISTIS interdisciplinary project with international partners and young scientists is to fill this gap by compiling the best practices from participating countries and the specific networks of participants.
Workshops, site visits, analysis and assessment according to sustainability criteria will be used to define the development, optimization and marketing of the applied technologies and systems.

The concerned technologies and systems facilitate the decentralized production, and use of renewable energy as well as the management and local reuse of water and organic waste streams, amongst others for effective pollution control and/or local food production. Hence, the results obtained reveal immense potential for multiplication and for fostering sustainable rural and urban (re-) development.
